The milkshake at the Hydro Majestic was made using a common although somewhat controversial ingredient – chocolate ice cream. This provides a very different flavour profile to your typical chocolate milkshake (which uses vanilla ice cream) but can often be pretty good.
However a blender was also used here, which is without question an inferior technique. Given the prices being charged for milkshakes in some places (notable exception is regional areas which have substantially cheaper milkshakes), the investment in a milkshake machine seems reasonable.
The milkshake came in a plastic cup with lid with a plastic straw. The bubble distribution was reasonable. Unsurprisingly, given a blender was used, the milkshake was milky at the bottom. The chocolate flavour was powdered but strength of flavour was good given the chocolate ice cream used.
